GIFT CARD PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS IT?

The Guardian Angels gift card program is an ongoing fundraiser to help the school earn extra money and help the parents earn credit towards their tuition.   The gift card program is very simple to understand once you get the concept.   I’ll give you an example just using your grocery purchases.   A family of four spends about $400.00 a month.   They would purchase gift cards as needed through the school.   That would be approximately $4800.00 per year, which would amount to a tuition credit of $120.00 – just for shopping for your groceries!   Not to mention, the school would also receive $120.00 as well.

If you would like to expand your gift card purchases beyond the grocery stores, we presently have 73 different retailers in stock and 100’s of special order gift cards.   We have gift cards for retail stores, department stores, restaurants, gas stations, entertainment venues and more!   You can find a complete list of retailers at www.glscrip.com.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We purchase the gift cards through a clearing house, or directly from the retailer at a discount.   We sell them at face value, taking the discount and giving half to the school and putting the other half in the buyers tuition account.   For example, if you purchase $100 in Shop Rite gift cards, $2.50 goes to the school, and $2.50 goes into your tuition account.   If you purchase a $30 in Colonial Diner cards,   $2.25 goes to the school, and $2.25 goes to your tuition account.   The “gift card year” runs from May 1 to April 30.   The tuition credit will come off your total tuition bill for the next year.   It really does add up!   Our top three families last year received $925, $750 and $550 in tuition credit, just by paying for their everyday purchases with gift cards or giving them as gifts.

HOW DO I PURCHASE GIFT CARDS?

You may come to the Gibbstown campus each school day between 8 and 9 am and purchase them in person.   These are the only times during the day that certificates will be available.

You can also send the gift card order form in through backpack mail and they will be send home with your child that same day.   Your child will sign for the certificates when returned and it becomes your child’s responsibility to give them to you.   To send the order in though backpack mail, put your check and order form in an envelope marked “GIFT CARDS”.   Please make sure to fill out the form in its entirety.   If the card you want is a special order that is not listed on the back in the special order section, please attach a piece of paper with the retailer name, amount of the card and quantity of cards. If you do not receive the envelope back that day, please call the school.   We may not have received the order from your child’s backpack

Special orders are placed on Monday mornings, after walk in sales are over.   The cards will be sent home on Friday through back pack mail, or will be available to pick up between 8-9am   at the Gibbstown campus.   Special order certificates must be paid for at the time the order is placed.

At times, especially during the holidays, some gift cards may be temporarily out of stock.   Cards are ordered on a weekly basis and will usually be in within a few days.   You will receive your order form and a note back letting you know that your order was backordered.   As soon as it comes in, it will be sent home via backpack mail.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

Gift cards can be purchased by anyone and the tuition credit can be given to any school family.   We currently have grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. who stop by to purchase certificates.
